At the Vertical Connection Carpet One Floor & Home, feeding hungry neighbors is just as important as finding flooring for local homes and businesses.

With the Thanksgiving holiday creeping closer, Vertical Connections staff are joining forces with The Howard County Association of Realtors (HCAR) once again. The annual food drive is now in its 9^th season, with baskets brimming with holiday foods distributed through Neighbor Network, a local initiative benefiting families coping with economic hardship.

Vertical Connection Hosts Thanksgiving Basket Drive

Families, businesses, and other groups throughout the region are asked to fill a tote or laundry basket with festive meal supplies: with assembly and cooking left up to respective recipients. Nonperishable items like instant mashed potatoes, boxed stuffing, canned vegetables, and dry cake and pie crust mixes comprise the bulk of each basket. Gift cards to select the perfect turkey, a tablecloth, and a personalized holiday card add a touch of extra love.

Donations were accepted through day’s end on November 10, with dozens of “meals to go” benefiting clients at various social service organizations, senior citizens, disabled veterans, and others in desperate need.
